Terms

Terms of Service

These terms govern access to and use of ForgeRelay. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

Last updated 8 August 2026 Privacy Policy

Agreement

Who these terms bind.

“ForgeRelay”, “we” and “us” refer to the operator of the ForgeRelay service. “You” means the individual using the service, or the organisation on whose behalf you act.

If you use ForgeRelay for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of how we operate the service.

Service

What ForgeRelay does.

ForgeRelay helps software teams relay forge activity (such as pull requests, merge requests, reviews, pipeline or check status, and configurable commit or push digests) into chat destinations you configure.

  • Connect supported forges and chat workspaces (today: GitHub, GitLab, Slack and Discord)
  • Define repository-to-channel routes, events and feature behaviour — including optional commit digest routes
  • Deliver messages, threads, digests and optional reminders according to those routes
  • Record delivery attempts so failures can be inspected and replayed

We may add, change or remove features, connection types and limits as the product evolves. Marketing pages describe intended behaviour; the live control panel is the source of truth for what your workspace can do.

Accounts

Registration, workspaces and responsibility.

  • Provide accurate account information and keep sign-in methods under your control
  • You are responsible for activity under your account and for members you invite
  • Workspace owners and admins control connections, routes, members and billing settings
  • You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and use the service only for lawful professional purposes

Acceptable use

What you must not do.

  • Probe, scan or attack the service, or attempt to bypass authentication or rate limits
  • Interfere with other customers’ workspaces or reverse engineer the service except where law allows
  • Use ForgeRelay to send spam, malware, unlawful content or harassment through connected channels
  • Relay data you are not authorised to access, or grant ForgeRelay permissions beyond what your organisation allows
  • Resell, sublicense or provide the service to third parties as a managed offering without our prior written consent
  • Misrepresent the service’s security posture, certifications or availability

Connections

Third-party platforms.

ForgeRelay depends on providers you connect. Their terms apply in addition to these.

You authorise us to access and process data from connected forges and chat platforms solely to provide the service you configure. You confirm you have the right to grant those permissions for the repositories, projects and channels you select.

We are not responsible for outages, API changes, permission changes or policy enforcement by GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Discord, Google, Stripe or any future provider we support. If a provider revokes access or changes scopes, related features may stop until you reconnect or adjust configuration.

Security and permissions describes the scopes we request today.

Plans

Free, Team, and charges.

ForgeRelay offers Free (up to 3 mapped people) and paid Team plans billed monthly through Stripe by seat size. Nothing switches to a paid plan without an explicit choice by an organisation owner.

  • Plans meter mapped people (forge identities linked under People); organisation logins are not billed
  • Free includes 30 days of operational history; every Team seat tier includes a selectable 30, 60, or 90-day window
  • After paid access ends, 30 days becomes effective and older operational data may be removed on the next daily pruning run
  • Team seat sizes and prices are listed on the pricing page and may change with reasonable notice
  • Paid subscriptions are billed through our payment processor (Stripe); taxes may apply
  • Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or stated at purchase
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or loss of paid features after any applicable notice
  • Complimentary or promotional access may be withdrawn according to the terms of that offer

Availability

Early access, no uptime guarantee.

ForgeRelay is provided on an early-access / “as is” and “as available” basis. We aim for reliable delivery, but we do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free or timely operation. Features may be experimental, incomplete or removed. You should not rely on ForgeRelay as the sole system for security-critical or legally required notifications.

  • We may suspend access for maintenance, abuse, legal risk or non-payment
  • Scheduled and unscheduled downtime may occur
  • Delivery history and replay help recover from destination failures, but do not guarantee every event is posted

IP and liability

Ownership, disclaimers and limits.

Your content. You retain rights in data you submit or that providers send on your behalf. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and transmit that data solely to operate the service. Feedback you send may be used to improve the product without obligation to you.

Our IP. The ForgeRelay product, brand, software and documentation remain ours or our licensors’. These terms do not transfer ownership to you.

Disclaimer. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that relayed messages are complete, correctly formatted for every destination, or free of third-party delay.

Limitation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ForgeRelay and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or lost-profit damages, or for lost data, missed reviews, failed merges or business interruption arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim or (b) £50. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

Indemnity. You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms or third-party rights, including provider terms.

End of use

Suspension, deletion and surviving terms.

  • You may stop using the service and delete a workspace at any time
  • We may suspend or terminate access for breach, risk, prolonged inactivity or discontinuation of the product
  • On termination, your right to use the service ends; we may delete workspace data according to the Privacy Policy
  • Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, limits of liability and indemnity) continue after termination

Changes. We may update these terms as features and connections expand. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the service and delete your workspace.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country say otherwise.

General. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganisation or sale of the service. These terms are the entire agreement for use of ForgeRelay and supersede prior conflicting understandings on that subject.
