The questions we would ask.

A forge identity (for example a GitHub or GitLab username) with at least one People mapping to Slack or Discord. That is what Team seats meter — not how many people can log into ForgeRelay.

Yes. The same forge person may have one mapping per chat provider. Slack plus Discord still counts as one mapped person.

No. Owners and admins who only configure the workspace do not use a mapped-people seat.

No. Every plan includes unlimited repositories and unlimited notifications. Only mapped people are capped on Free and Team.

No. You stay on Free until an organisation owner chooses a Team seat tier in Billing.

Free keeps 30 days. Every paid or complimentary Team tier lets an owner or admin choose 30, 60, or 90 days at no extra charge. Returning to Free makes 30 days effective on the next pruning run; deleted history is not restored.

Self-hosting is not available today. The Self-hosted box is a placeholder for a future option — tell us if you need it and we will be straight about the state of it.
